Toujeo Insulin Injections
A long-acting human insulin analog called Toujeo is prescribed to treat diabetes mellitus in adults and children six years of age and older in order to enhance glycemic control.
Restrictions on Use:
It is not advised to use this injection to treat diabetic ketoacidosis.
Important Safety Information Contraindications for Insulin Glargine Injection Toujeo U-300
It should not be used in patients who are hypersensitive to insulin glargine or any of the excipients in the product, nor should it be used during hypoglycemic episodes.
Cautions and Warnings
Insulin glargine, the active component of Lantus, is also present in this injection.
Toujeo has an insulin glargine concentration of 300 units per milliliter (U-300).
It is imperative that patients never share insulin pens or needles.
Needles should never be reused.
Check the blood sugar levels of every patient receiving insulin.
Only alter insulin dosage schedules under physician supervision.
