Serious negative effects that RYBELSUS® may induce include:
Potential cancerous tumors of the thyroid.
Notify your doctor if you experience shortness of breath, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, or a lump or swelling in your neck.
These could be signs of cancerous thyroid tissue.
Thyroid cancers, including thyroid cancer, were observed in rat experiments involving RYBELSUS® and medications that function similarly to it.
It is unknown if RYBELSUS® will result in medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), a kind of thyroid cancer, or thyroid tumors in humans.
Apply RYBELSUS® sparingly if:
If you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), an endocrine system disorder, you have or have ever had MTC in any member of your family.
Inform your healthcare provider of any additional medical issues you may have before using
RYBELSUS®, such as if you: have or have had kidney or pancreatic issues have a history of visual issues linked to diabetes are expecting a child or already have one.
The potential risks of RYBELSUS® to your fetus are unknown. It is recommended that you cease using RYBELSUS® two months prior to your intended pregnancy.
If you intend to become pregnant, are nursing, or intend to breastfeed, speak with your healthcare professional about the best ways to manage your blood sugar. It is not advised to breastfeed while receiving RYBELSUS® therapy.
Inform your physician about all of the medications you use, including vitamins, herbal remedies, and prescription and over-the-counter medications.
