Sildenafil Tablets
Male sexual function issues (impotence, often known as erectile dysfunction, or ED) are treated with sildenafil. When combined with sexual stimulation, sildenafil helps a man get and maintain an erection by boosting blood flow to the penis. Sexually transmitted infections (such as syphilis, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, and HIV) are not prevented by this medication. Use “safe sex” techniques, such as latex condoms. For further information, speak with your pharmacist or physician.
How to Take a Tablet of Sildenafil
Before beginning to use sildenafil and each time you receive a refill, read the Patient Information Leaflet, if one is available from your pharmacist. See your physician or pharmacist if you have any questions.
Take this medication orally, as prescribed by your physician, to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), generally as needed. Take sildenafil 30 minutes or more before engaging in sexual activity, but no more than 4 hours (one hour is ideal). Never take more than once every day.
Eating a large meal may cause the medication to take longer to start working.
The dosage is determined by your health status, how you respond to treatment, and any additional medications you may be taking. Make sure your pharmacist and doctor are aware of everything you use, including over-the-counter, prescription, and herbal products.
If your situation does not get better, let your doctor know.
